Over the last three decades, we’ve found that the best way to serve you and satisfy your accounting and tax needs starts with learning about you, your family and your business. As we become familiar with how you make your living, how you invest and, as importantly, about your long-term investment and life goals, we begin to personalize how our accounting and tax work will be tailored to best help you realize all these goals.
Once we have your background and goals set, we will begin to log your information into our system enabling your progress to be tracked. A member of our staff will key in the pertinent information you provide and then another staff person will review all your information. Next, we will contact you with any questions or requests for more information to see if there are any additional deductions or credits that can help you. One of our most important goals is to have a productive dialog with you so that you receive the maximum tax benefits to which you are entitled and the most efficient tax rate possible under the tax code. Only when we believe that we have all these pieces of your financial picture fully developed, do we then assemble your return. A member of our staff will again call you to notify you that it is ready for your signature. At that time we would also make arrangements for payment and delivery of the completed return to the appropriate governmental agency.
The information package you’ll compile for us should include your organizer, your business and household records, whichever may be applicable, all pertinent tax documents and any mail you’ve received from any taxing authorities in the last year. We would also ask you to sign and return our memorandum of understanding and retainer.
The best way to return your information package to us is by mail or by stopping by our office. If you mail your information to us, we recommend using a tracking number for mailing the package such as USPS priority mail or a commercial courier such as Fedex or UPS. We also recommend making a copy of all your information documents prior to submitting them to us, just so we have a back-up set if something should happen in the mail.
The documents and forms we are providing below are designed to help you focus on what is needed and make your job (and our ability to help you) as easy as possible. They are provided in a PDF format for your convenience. Just open the file, print each out and complete it as best you can. Once they are ready they can be mailed, scanned and emailed or faxed back to our office. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call us right away.
2011 Organizer This document is a basic organizer that gathers your information, income and deductions. The organizer is not intended to cause stress for you; it’s simply our way of giving you a structured system to bring all your information together. Just do the best you can, and again call us if you have any questions. If you have another organized format to present the data that suits your situation then we can try that format as well. Please include specific tax documents such as all your W-2′s, 1099′s, 1098 mortgage-paid information, contribution lists, settlement sheets for properties you bought or sold with all other closing documents, in your tax return package. Remember to make and keep copies of these important papers.
Individual MOU This must be signed and included with your tax return package.
Business MOU All corporate and partnership tax returns require a signed business MOU.
